Meeting notes: OUTReach meeting, Wednesday, January 18, 2006, 12-1
1. Presidential Interviews January 20, 23, 24 and 25th. OUTReach will have representatives at the "diversity" meeting (9:45 to 10:45 am) for all presidential interview forums. Joan, Keith, Matt and Chris have worked out a schedule so that at least two people are present at each session to ask questions about domestic partner benefits.
Keith and Lance volunteered to contact colleagues at each of the candidates current institutions to attempt to gauge their stance on LGBT issues.
We will compile information after the interviews and fact finding investigations and submit feedback to the search committee.
Additionally, in collaboration with the DPB subcommittee we will put together a "leadership transition package" to use to orient the new president on LGBT issues.
2. Spring
social events. OUTReach Hour continues
on the first Thursday of the month. The
December (Championship Dining) and January (Colors) events were well attended
and a lot of fun.
Mark your calendars! OUTReach Hour in April will be a potluck at Chris Eastoe's house. The date is April 6th.
3. OUTReach survey. Keith and Lance have agreed to analyze the data from the recent OUTReach survey.
4. LGBT Advisory Board. The committee on unisex restrooms on campus continues to meet. Joan is working on a plan to contact individual regents to lobby for their support for DPB.
5. DPB subcommittee update. We are working on the leadership transition packet and lobbying efforts. Still no word from ASU regarding their DPB program.
6. Multi
campus coordinated efforts on LGBT issues.

7. Statistics on numbers of LGBT students and staff. Meeting with HR and EEO on January 26th.
8. Financial report. The DRO covered the cost of food for the reception we held for President Likins August 24th to celebrate DPTP so we are in excess of $500.00 now.
